A day to sleep in a bit. Diane drove us over to Northland Mall. Did some browsing, lunch and picked up a few munchies getting ready for the game tonight. Again surprised at the cost of things. Shoes such as Converse would be about $99 a pair. Jeans about $79 to $89 depending on the brand. Most foods are also more expensive than what we would be used to at home.
Some more so than others. It's not unreasonable to spend $3.00 on a chocolate bar. And Coke...wow! It was very expensive in the grocery store, $3.95.
FOOTY TIME!
We had purchased some Collingwood gear in the city so we were ready to take in the game. Took the train to the game and joined about 85 000 people watch Collingwood beat Carlton. These two teams have along standing rivarly so the energy at the game was intense.
Fans are absolute in who they are cheering for and almost everyone is some form of team gear. Lots of fun!
Also fun to see what they sell at the games. There was the usual of pop, water but what I didn't expect was packaged meat pies! Yes, beef meat pies with tomato sause or as we call it, ketchup.

| Boys loving the meat pies. |
We really enjoyed being at the game and it really is a true Melbourne experience to watch Collingwood/Carltion at the Melbourne Cricket Grounds or MCG.
Heading to Healesville Sanctuary tomorrow to see some animals native to Australia.
